Michael Wise is a composer who strives to blur the harsh lines between musical styles and eras. He has studied both classical and contemporary music composition and enjoys taking the strengths of one to bolster the other. He has studied music theory and structure at several schools including Berklee College of Music, along with several independent studies with sundry faculty from across the US. He studied classical guitar performance at Normandale Community College, and currently plays piano, violin, electric bass, and multiple guitar styles.
His music has been performed and recorded by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra in Hungary. A selection of his brass quintet arrangements were performed at a military retirement ceremony held at the Pentagon. His arrangement of the Overture from Handel’s Messiah was performed by the Normandale Community College Guitar Quintet in the fall of 2017.
Michael holds an MM in Film Scoring, a BPS in Music Composition for Film, TV, and Games, and a Professional Certificate in Music Composition, all from Berklee College of Music. He is an Avid-Certified Pro Tools User, and has experience with audio integration using Unity in conjunction with Wwise and FMOD.
